Role: LX 2 (Deputy Electrician)
Contract: Fixed term, touring
Contract Dates: Starts W/C 2 November 2026 with one week of prep followed by tech week W/C 09 November 2026 at Plymouth Theatre Royal. The first public performance is scheduled to be on Monday 16 November and the contract will terminate following the final performance in Edinburgh on Saturday 8 May 2027.
Weekly Salary: £894.27
Allowances: We follow the Equity / CTA rate for living away allowance which is currently £350 per week for accommodation for each touring week (including any London performance weeks) that is more than 25 miles from your home address. This rate is due to be increased but we are yet to receive that from Equity so we will inform you when we have that information.
Subsistence: As above, the Equity / CTA rate is currently 65% of the Living Away Allowance for each week of rehearsals if you live outside London and can’t commute.
About the Role
You will undertake the role of Deputy Lighting (LX2). As LX2 you are responsible for assisting the Re-lighter /Head of Lighting as directed regarding the operation and maintenance of all lighting equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with fit-ups, focus sessions, performances and get-outs.
- Acting as cover for Head of Lighting on their day off, operating the lighting desk.
- Maintenance of all lighting equipment.
- Supervise and work alongside local venue crews.
- Support the wider technical team and deputise when required.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in lighting for live theatre.
- Good fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently within a touring environment.
- Commitment to high standards of health and safety.
