The Head of Technical Operations is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the Tyne Theatre & Opera House’s stage, (back of house) events operation, and oversight of the venue’s reactive and preventative maintenance programmes.

The role is required to ensure that all the technical aspects of the theatre’s busy programme of events are met and delivered to a high standard.

The role will report to the Theatre Director and work alongside all departments.

Working hours will require flexibility and will include evening and weekends.

This is a key role within the Olivier Awards Production Team in which you will oversee all ticketing and associated administration for the Olivier Awards 2024 with Mastercard. You will liaise with the Royal Albert Hall, SOLT and UK Theatre members, Nominees, VIPs and stakeholders, and other guests who will attend the Awards ceremony. You will manage the requests, invoicing and distribution of all tickets to the event, and be accountable for the smooth running of the ticketing operation and ensure all guests have clear and timely ticket information and instructions.

We are looking for a Security Officer to join our Visitor Experience Team. If you are excited by the vision of our theatre and care passionately about providing customers and audiences with a first-class visitor experience in a safe and secure environment we would be very keen to hear from you. You will ensure the safety of our visitors, spaces and equipment within the building, as well as being a welcoming and informative point of contact. The post holder will be well informed about our activities and productions, and will be able to communicate with a wide range of people, including staff and the public in a friendly and helpful way.

We provide full training to ensure all our visitors have an enjoyable and safe experience during their visit to Curve. However, we expect you to have experience within a customer-focused environment.

This role is offered as a casual contract with a monthly rota. Successful candidates must be available evenings and weekends, as well as having good weekday daytime and Bank Holiday availability, in line with our performance and events schedule.

This is the role for you, if you:

• Would like to work for a pioneering national theatre for children in a part-time and flexible role. 
• Are interested in working with data and numbers and learning more about how a finance department operates.
• Enjoy finance administration work and have a keen eye for detail.

As an important member of the Finance team, you will assist the Senior Finance Officer in the day-to-day running of the Finance department. Experience of working in Finance is not necessary as we will provide in-house training. An aptitude for numbers, paying attention to detail and an interest in accounting processes and data handling is key. This role would be a great entry-level role into finance and the arts.
