The main focus of the role is to lead the technical services department of Stanley
Arts in lighting, sound and video for events and other creative projects whilst
managing and maintaining the technical equipment of Stanley Arts. This position
will be on a permanent, full-time basis starting as soon as possible.
The role also includes being the point of contact for external enquiries related to
the technical facilities available on-site.
The Senior Venue Technician will plan the technical support for the events
programme and in-house produced events and shows in line with given guidelines
from Events & Operations Manager and Artistic Director/CEO.
The Senior Venue Technician may also be asked to support the Events &
Operations Manager & General Manager in managing the non-events building
services; i.e. electrical (including in-house PAT testing), heating and lighting – when
time allows.

Key Responsibilities
To manage the safe and efficient realisation of all technical aspects (including
light, sound and video) of all events and artistic activity at Stanley Arts
including, but not limited to,in-house productions, productions from visiting
professional and amateur companies, learning and engagement activity, live
music, commercial events. This includes being the technical lead for
Pantomime.
Lead the technical department in managing and maintaining technical
equipment.
To be responsible for the safe and efficient use of lighting, sound, video, staging
and other technical equipment including rigging, focusing, patching and
programming, including overseeing external contractors to agreed risk
assessments and method statements.
Oversee responses to building users
‘ technical maintenance.
Liaise with visiting companies/artists to confirm tech specs/requirements via
telephone or email, conducting site visits when required.
Make sure monthly equipment log & basic maintenance is adhered to.
Organise technical support for the events and performance programme in line
with given guidelines from Events & Operations Manager and Artistic
Director/CEO.
Book freelance staff for events, as required, alongside the Events & Operations
Manager.
Ensure annual PAT testing and LOLER testing are completed.
Support the get-in and get-out of Gallery exhibitions.
Support the marketing department with the installation of building banners and
other marketing materials.
Carry out other tasks as required by the Events & Operations Manager, Artistic
Director/CEO & General Manager, aligning with the overall role aims.

Technical Services
Keep the Asset list up to date; logging and labelling all new equipment on
arrival.
Update the Asset List when notified that equipment is being relocated around
the building.
Keep technical equipment in good working order; this includes equipment that
is installed across the building as well as equipment required for events.
When time allows, carry out PAT testing of equipment and small electrical items
across the site.
Carry out technical equipment and sundry purchases (under £100) responsibly
to ensure the smooth running of the venue.
Provide input to the planning process for future technical infrastructure
investments to the
Events & Operations Manager &/ Artistic Director/CEO.
Take on organisational & technical responsibilities for any required online/ livestreamed media content.

Events
Lead on technical production for all events and creative projects within the
building. Liaising with the Events & Operations Manager and organisers /
producers via production meetings.
Support the lighting, sound and other technical needs of external events
bookers & building users in a friendly & helpful manner across the venue.
Ensure the safe operation of all technical equipment to appropriate standards.
Ensure the correct operation of all technical equipment to minimise damage to
the equipment.
Promptly report any faults or broken equipment to the Events & Operations
Manager.
Keep all backstage and non-public areas clean and tidy, with all walkways and
passages clear.
Keep technical storage areas well ordered, with all equipment clearly labelled
and stored in the correct location.
Ensure all technical equipment is put away in the correct storage location and
secured at the end of EVERY event to prevent theft or damage.
