SOLT & UK Theatre welcome EU-UK Statement on Touring

Commenting on the statement published after today’s EU-UK Summit, SOLT & UK Theatre Co-CEO Claire Walker said:

“Today’s UK-EU summit rightly recognises the importance of cultural exchange and touring artists.

“Touring productions are essential to sharing UK theatre across Europe – reaching new audiences, building international partnerships, and driving creative and economic opportunity. But for too many British companies, touring remains burdened by visas, transport restrictions, and red tape.

“We urge both sides to build on today’s commitment by removing these barriers and enabling frictionless touring.

“With the right support, UK theatre can thrive across Europe – strengthening cultural ties and contributing to shared economic growth.”
