- Launched in 1998, Kids Week is the longest-running audience development initiative of its kind and has enabled more than 2.7 million theatre visits, offering free theatre tickets to children in the summer holidays
- 18 theatre characters came together at the Official London Theatre Ticket Booth to celebrate the return of the annual campaign
- Shows including ‘Come Alive!’ The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular, Now You See Me Live and The Gruffalo Live On Stage have also released additional availability, extending the Kids Week offer into September
Official London Theatre celebrated their annual audience development initiative, Kids Week, by inviting beloved characters from theatre shows across London to the Official London Theatre Ticket Booth in Leicester Square.
18 characters from a breadth of London and West End shows came together to mark this year’s Kids Week campaign, which offers free theatre tickets to children throughout the summer holidays. Shows featured were Be Like Blippi, Brainiac Live!, ‘Come Alive!’ The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular, Dinosaur World Live, The Enormous Crocodile, The Gruffalo Live On Stage, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Horrible Histories, Now You See Me Live, Six, The Tiger Who Came To Tea and Zog.
Over 190,000 tickets are still available as part of the Kids Week promotion, allowing children aged 17 and under to see participating shows for free when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Each adult paying full price can also purchase up to two additional children’s tickets at half price – all with no booking fees. Kids Week also offers an exciting programme of activities, giving young theatre fans the chance to go behind the scenes and discover how the magic of theatre is made – including Kids Week Curtain Calls and Workshops.
Whilst most Kids Week shows are available to book until Monday 31 August, additional September availability has been announced today for ‘Come Alive!’ The Greatest Showman Circus Spectacular, Disney’s Hercules, Death Note: The Musical, Hot Mess: A New Musical, Matilda The Musical, My Neighbour Totoro, Now You See Me Live, The Comedy About Spies, The Devil Wears Prada, The Gruffalo Live On Stage and Wicked.
