We believe positive change can be ignited by young people. We endeavour to create an atmosphere where debate and collaboration is celebrated, where young people’s voices are heard and where there is the space and opportunity to think boldly and dynamically about how best to drive Chichester Festival Theatre towards a diverse, inspiring and exciting future.

We are looking for four innovative and driven young people between the ages of 16-25 to join our current members of the Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and help think creatively about how the Theatre can work to welcome diverse and dynamic audiences. It doesn’t matter whether you have previously engaged with the Theatre or not, we want to hear from people with a variety of interests, which may include the arts.

The YAB will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Festival Theatre’s Board of Trustees, taking part in a two-way conversation on how best to make the Theatre a more inviting and exciting place for young people.

The commitment will include:
• A two-year tenure on the Youth Advisory Board
• Travelling to Chichester Festival Theatre for group discussions five times a year
• Working on projects between meetings with subcommittees

As a member of the YAB you will:
• Receive complimentary tickets to Festival Theatre productions
• Gain an understanding of how a major producing theatre operates
• Develop your own skills and confidence through helping CFT improve our offer for young
people
• Gain transferrable skills such as communication, teamwork and planning
• Have the opportunity to meet and learn from people involved in all aspects of professional
theatre

We’d love to hear from you if:
• You can think creatively, contribute to group discussions, validate the opinions of others and
work collaboratively
• You are excited by inspiring change, creating opportunities for young people and advocating
for accessibility and diversity
• You have a passion for arts and media, whether that’s watching or participating
• You are interested in the workings of a charity and having an active role in how that charity
operates
