The Tech ASM will work with the wider Stage Management team in the running and maintenance of the West End production.

Salary: £746.88 based on 8 performances a week, plus Sunday Performance payments as per the SOLT/Equity agreement.

Contract Type: Full-time, fixed-term.
Show schedule: 7:30pm Tuesday – Saturday, 2:30pm Saturday, and 3pm & 7pm Sunday.

Responsible To: Company Stage Manager and General Manager.
Personal Attributes: We are looking for applicants with previous ASM experience. The role requires someone who has a calm and practical approach to technical trouble-shooting and the ability to work well in high pressure environments.
Job Description:
- Assisting the production and Stage Management teams with the running of rehearsals and performances, covering tracks and maintenance.
- Ensuring that stage and rehearsal environments are set-up and maintained as required with appropriate set, props, and other effects as necessary.
- Performing the ASM plots as directed by the Company Stage Manager, including some onstage cues.
- Training and supervising new Deps as required.
- Recognising where maintenance work needs to be carried out and reporting this to the Company Stage Manager.
- Maintaining props and carrying out repairs as required.
- Ensuring all Stage Management equipment and areas are kept in a tidy and secure manner.
- Assisting the Stage Management team with rehearsal requirements and requests.
- Working collaboratively with all other departments including the theatre technical team in order to ensure the smooth running of the production.
- Learning other plots within your department and providing absence cover for other members of your department as necessary.
- Any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of an ASM based on industry norms and practice.
Person Specification:
- Demonstrable professional experience as an ASM on a production of a similar scale on tour/West End.
- Strong technical and practical ability.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A calm and proactive approach to technical troubleshooting.
- A strong understanding of comic timing.
- Comfortable working with ladders and pyrotechnics (full training will be provided).
- The ability to work well with actors and creative teams.
- The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise.
- Knowledge of SOLT/BECTU and Equity union agreements.
- Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation including COSHH.
