ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Bridge Theatre Sound Department is currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented Sound No.2 to join our team for the upcoming revival of our hit production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which previously ran to great acclaim in 2019.

The Bridge Theatre Sound Department is looking for an enthusiastic, talented, and personable Sound Number 2 to work on our production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. You will be a key member of the sound department, working with the Head of Sound to ensure the sound design is maintained throughout the run.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include all tasks customarily performed by a Sound No.2 in respect of a theatrical production of an appropriate standard and scale including (but not limited to):

  • Assisting the Head of Sound as required to establish, run, and maintain a first-class Sound department for the Production.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and fitting cast radio microphones and trackers.
  • Managing and maintaining the backstage plots and RF requirements of the show through the run, with the support of the Sound No.3
  • Providing mix cover in agreement with the Head of Sound, mixing the show in line with the artistic aspirations of the Sound Designer and the Company. With potential for more mix responsibilities towards the end of the run.
  • Scheduling and carrying out maintenance days in agreement with the Head of Sound
  • Maintaining accurate paperwork for the Production, containing all relevant setting lists, show plots and photographs
  • With the Head of Sound, employing and training any deputies as required
  • Participating as required in closing down the Production following the final performance
  • Carry out microphone fittings with the cast and prepare for technical rehearsal
  • Other related tasks for the Bridge Theatre more generally.

Person Specification:

Essential

  • Experience working as a Sound No.2 on high level theatre productions
  • Experience managing and maintaining RF plots with high channel count digital radio microphone systems
  • Experience mixing large scale theatre productions
  • Experience with Yamaha consoles and D&B loudspeaker systems
  • Experience with QLab, Ableton Live, D&B R1 software
  • Approachable and friendly
  • Good teamworking and leadership skills
  • Punctual and reliable.

Desirable

  • Experience with Sennheiser 6000 Radio Microphones
  • Experience with Yamaha PM Rivage Consoles
  • Experience working with TiMax or similar tracking systems.
