We are looking for applicants with previous Sound 2 experience. The role
requires someone with strong technical knowledge and a calm practical approach to technical
troubleshooting. Candidates must be able to work well in a team and have the ability to work well in
high pressure environments.
Job Description:
Looking after the digital wireless systems used for the running of the show;
Fitting and maintaining custom in–ear monitors;
Learning to mix the show for certain performances and be able to deputise for the Sound No. 1 as
necessary;
To maintain the Production as instructed and dictated by the creative team and the Sound No. 1;
Working alongside your team, other technical departments, stage management, the acting company
and creative team members to ensure the efficient flow of information as necessary for the smooth
running of the show;
Attending all rehearsals, show calls, maintenance calls, get–ins, fit–ups and get–outs as required by
the Company Manager, the Sound No. 1 or the Sound Designer, including emergency calls in the
event of equipment failure or other incident, particularly if there is a risk of the cancellation of a
performance;

Having a practical understanding of the Producer’s employment policies and demonstrating a
willingness to comply with these policies;
Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the
Sound Designer, Company Manager, Sound No. 1, Production Manager, General Managers or
Producers from time to time.

Experience working with technology especially digital radio microphones and in–ear monitoring
systems.
A proactive and flexible attitude;
Previous experience of UK Touring;
Previous experience of working as part of a team;
The ability to work well with actors and creative team;
The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise;
Awareness of current health & safety legislation;
Strong working knowledge of UK Theatre & SOLT Equity and BECTU agreements.
