Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and oversee all stage elements during rehearsals and live performances.
  2. Organize and coordinate set changes, props, sound, lighting, and costume fittings.
  3. Supervise the Cast and Front of House Support Teams to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Adhere to health and safety regulations backstage, ensuring the safety of all participants.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve any on-the-spot technical or logistical issues.
  6. Maintain the production schedule and ensure performances run on time.
  7. Liaise with audience members and be the point of contact for any customer enquiries and feedback.
  8. Use the ticketing data to run off daily audience lists and provide these to the cast every performance.
  9. Mange the stock of gifts and liaise with volunteers to prep the soft toys that are given to children,

Featuring live performances, Christmas songs, and personal moments with Father Christmas, this event is a festive highlight for families visiting Castle Howard during the holiday season. Children leave with a Christmas gift, making the experience truly magical.

Requirements:

  1. Previous stage management experience, ideally in live performances or interactive shows.
  2. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  3. Ability to manage a team and work effectively under pressure.
  4. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  5. Understanding of sound, lighting, and prop management.
  6. Knowledge of health and safety practices in a live event environment.
  7. Ability to use a ticketing system/ equivalent IT systems

Additional Information:
The Father Christmas experience is located in the historic High South, up two flights of stone steps and is not wheelchair accessible. However, A Dickens of a Christmas at Christmas at Castle Howard 
and Santa’s Grotto are wheelchair accessible.
