More Details

Fixed-Term Maternity Cover Contract; Starting February 2026
Full-time; 40 hours per week
Salary up to £50,000 per annum dependent on experience
Based in: Covent Garden, London

The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are. The whole is always more than the sum of its parts – we may be a House, but three quarters of our audiences experience what we do outside this building. While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world.

The role:
We are looking to hire a Senior Producer (Linbury) for The Royal Opera on a fixed-term maternity cover contract starting in February 2026.

The Senior Producer, working closely with the Associate Director, has the responsibility for realising bold and adventurous plans for the Linbury Theatre within the parameters of the Royal Opera strategy and is responsible for overseeing the Producer and Assistant Producer in the successful delivery of the Royal Opera’s productions for the Linbury Theatre, our digital stage, other spaces with the Royal Opera House and beyond, regularly working in partnerships with other UK and International companies.

What you’ll bring:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced candidate who is confident working with a wide range of artists and staff, able to perform under pressure and with strong attention to detail.

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Outstanding producing skills and substantial experience of producing and managing performing arts projects, ideally opera productions.
  • Experience of working in a complex performing arts organisation and dealing with the full range of departments and with staff and artists at all levels.
  • Exceptional project management skills including preparation and management of budgets.
  • Deal confidently and effectively with a wide range of people from across the organisation and wider theatre sector.
  • Strong delegation skills and ability to manage a team of varied skills and experience.

We value the diversity new hires can bring to our workforce. A working knowledge of our repertoire is not essential, but the ability to learn quickly is.
