Salary: £35,567

About WMC/Our Department:

The commercial events team have an exciting new role for an experienced leader to join our team as a senior events manager.

The team have just completed our most exciting year to date, launching a world leading Gala dinner for our 20th anniversary, alongside celebrating the first birthday of our brand new Ffrwnais space. As we enter our 21st year, we have exciting plans which include launching a brand-new retail store, developing an outdoor venue that will be the hub of cardiff bay in the summer of 2026, as well as growing our commercial events portfolio.


About the Role and Responsibilities:

The Senior Commercial events manager will work into the Head of customer operations to lead the development of a commercial strategy focusing on external events and driving commercial revenue by utilizing all available space across the centre footprint.

This role will be responsible for driving the commercial events team to successfully hit Targets and KPIS. As the senior events manager you will be responsible for overseeing the relationship management of all external event clients, being the main point of contact throughout the booking process of your clients and overseeing the relationships of the teams.

Your role may be subject to a DBS check.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in Event Management at a Senior level, with an evidential portfolio of high-profile events and positive client feedback in a high profile venue.
  • Strong business acumen to negotiate and maximize the NET return of events and activity with year-on-year growth.
  • Experience in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships carrying them forward into future opportunities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload taking accountability for time and client management.
  • Working a 35 hour week in line with event needs which could require late night and weekend working
