People Operations Manager (maternity cover)
£32,000 – £36,000 dependent on experience
We are very excited to advertise for a passionate and dedicated People Operations Manager (Maternity Cover) to lead the People team in all operational aspects of supporting staff at Chichester Festival Theatre.
This small team is responsible for all operational aspects of the employee lifecycle, offers additional support to our fabulous volunteers and practitioners and provides additional advice and guidance for our shows when required. This role encompasses managing the full employee lifecycle – from onboarding and inductions to employee relations, probation reviews, appraisals, reporting, and delivering the team’s operational plans. The role is key in helping to drive our culture and core values.
We’re looking for someone with a:
Demonstrable successful track record of working as a HR professional in an SME
Experience of working as a HR Generalist
Experience of working to targets and motivating others to achieve them
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
An up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an ability to disseminate it in layman’s
terms
Experience of creating and delivering HR related training
Excellent communication skills, with tact, confidence and maturity to liaise with a wide
range of people
Flexible and self-motivated, able to prioritise and plan a challenging workload, as well as
communicate deadlines and any support needs
Experience of employee relations and comfortable with leading and supporting casework
Warm, confident and driven, happy to be part of a team committed to our values and
mission. Demonstrated commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
A love of theatre
Desirable Criteria
- An interest in wellbeing
- Experience of managing a People/HR team
- Use of a HR/Payroll system, ideally Civica
- Level 5 CIPD
