Job Description

Main Duties

To generate creative ideas and craft engaging marketing copy for York Theatre Royal’s productions, projects, and events across all communications channels, including brochures, websites, direct mail, and more, as required.

To be a point of contact for touring-in companies and to work with the Marketing Manager to deliver marketing schedules and activities for those companies.

To create, schedule, and analyse pre-show, post-show, and targeted email campaigns to engage audiences and promote upcoming productions and events.

To ensure the YTR website is up to date, using the CMS to populate show webpages with additional content as it becomes available.

To assist the Marketing Manager to develop and deliver YTR’s social media strategy and plan.

To generate content for social media and to assist in the management of YTR’s platforms/channels – uploading content and monitoring and reporting on activity.

To support YTR staff, volunteers and collaborators to create content as required and to oversee all collaborations and activity.

Maintain and update Front of House displays, poster sites, leaflet racks, and digital screens to ensure they are visually appealing and effectively promote upcoming events.

To act as ‘brand guardian’ in ensuring branding guidelines are followed at all times and to advise and support colleagues and partners on their use, to ensure consistency.

To work with other departments on providing appropriate signage for their needs.

To repurpose and adapt original artwork to create a cohesive suite of promotional materials, digital assets, and content that supports marketing campaigns and organisational communications.

To work with external Graphic Designers to produce print, as required.

Analyse marketing campaign performance to generate insights that inform and optimise marketing strategies.

To work with the Head of Communications on post-show analysis reports, pulling data from a variety of sources (including Purple Seven, Spektrix, Illuminate and DotDigital).

To utilise Google Analytics 4 to pull website data for weekly insights reports.

To build a central bank of key data points and assist all departments to access data they might need to inform reporting and decision making.

Gather and curate biographies, editorial content, and other relevant material to create compelling programmes that enhance the audience’s experience.

To produce cast sheets as and when required.

To work a regular shift/cover in Box Office, to ensure a good understanding of the customer journey and sales process and to enable interaction with customers

To have a good knowledge of the Box Office CRM system and run queries, mailing lists and sales and audience data reports as required

Person Specification

Essential

An enthusiastic and positive attitude with excellent communication skills – written & verbal

A practical and reliable individual with exceptional organisational and administrative skills and an ability to prioritise work and to manage tight deadlines

A completer finisher with an eye for detail and experience in proof reading

Excellent knowledge and understanding of social media platforms

Experience in graphic design and video editing

A great team player, with a flexible and collaborative approach

Enthusiastic, committed and passionate about the Arts

An enthusiasm for developing new skills and learning on the job

Ability to work evenings & weekends as necessary

Desirable

Experience of working in a sales environment

Experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud
