We are looking for applicants with previous LX1 / Head of Lighting experience on a comparable production to join the West End Production of SIX. The role requires someone who has excellent technical knowledge and a calm and practical approach to technical troubleshooting.

Essential Skills
- Demonstrable professional experience as a LX1/Head of Lighting on a long-running production;
- Knowledge and experience of the working practices of a West End production;
- Knowledge and experience with MIDI Show Control and Time Code;
- Media Server Experience (We use PRG MBOX, but any Server experience acceptable);
- Eos programming and operating knowledge;
- Experience of working with Follow Me and follow spot systems;
- Experience in the maintenance of moving/generic lighting fixtures;
- Comfortable working at height;
- Experience of managing a team;
- Experience troubleshooting an extensive lighting network;
- Experience working with & repairing LED Pixel Tape;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail.
Job Description:
- To operate the lighting desk for all performances of the production;
- To supervise and lead the LX2 and Tech Swing(s);
- To supervise the follow-spot operators during show running if necessary;
- To train the LX2, Tech Swing(s) and any new members of the department in order to provide cover for your role as required;
- To recruit and manage a pool of LX department deps, ensuring they are trained as required in both LX plots to give additional cover to the production;
- To supervise the maintenance and preparation of the rig;
- To maintain the Production as instructed and dictated by the creative team;
- To schedule the Tech Swing(s) in conjunction with the Stage Management and Sound Departments;
- Working alongside your team, other technical departments, stage management, the acting company and creative team members to ensure the efficient flow of information as necessary for the smooth running of the show;
- Attending rehearsals, show calls and maintenance calls as required by the Company Manager, Production Manager or the LX Designer, including emergency calls in the event of equipment failure or other incident, particularly if there is a risk of the cancellation of a performance;
- Compiling and keeping updated show paperwork, both digital and hard copy;
- Working in accordance with the Producer’s Health and Safety policy, which may include any training deemed necessary, to keep up to date logs and lists of equipment for both show and backstage electrical owned and hired equipment, to include overseeing yearly PAT testing;
- To maintain good communication with the chosen hire company, in conjunction with the Production Electrician and the Production Manager, should any equipment need swapping out;
- Complying at all times with the rules and regulations in force at the venue under the control of the Production;
- Having a practical understanding of the Producer’s employment policies and demonstrating a willingness to comply with these policies;
- Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your role based on industry standards or as instructed by the Lighting Designer, Company Manager, Production Manager, General Managers or Producers from time to time.
