Salary: £496.88 per week (based on 8 performances at £62.11 per performance)
Contract: Fixed Term SOLT/BECTU Contract
Contract Dates: w/c 20th April 2026 (TBC) – 18th July 2026
Tech: w/c 20th April 2026
Performances: 25th April – 18th July 2026
Show schedule: Performances are 6 days per week, typically Monday – Saturday. The performance schedule shall be confirmed at point of contract.
Holiday: As per the SOLT/BECTU Agreement (32 days per full calendar year). There will be a holiday embargo across this contract and any accrued holiday shall be paid out at the end of contract.

Personal attributes: We are looking for applicants with previous Wardrobe experience on a musical. Candidates must be prepared to undertake physically demanding tasks, and have the ability to work flexibly in high pressure environments. Candidates should also have previous Dressing experience, particularly with quick changes during performances.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To uphold the high production standards set by the Costume Designer and maintain the artistic quality of the original design;
- To assist the cast with dressing for each performance;
- To pre-set costumes before each performance of the Production;
- To undertake a dressing plot for each performance of the Production;
- To assist the cast with any quick changes during the performance, as required;
- To be responsible for dealing with emergency costume repairs of malfunctions during performances;
- To learn all the Wardrobe dressing tracks for the Production, to ensure you can cover them if required;
- To report any replacements, alterations or repairs needed for the costumes to the Head of Wardrobe in a timely manner, and to be proactive in identifying any costume maintenance tasks;
- To train any deps as required;
- To perform your role for any rehearsals (including understudies), dress rehearsals, press, marketing or other events, as required or as directed by the Head of Wardrobe;
- To work collaboratively with all other departments, including the theatre technical team, to ensure the smooth running of the production;
- To ensure all Wardrobe equipment and backstage areas are kept in a tidy and secure manner;
- To ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times and that all Health and Safety procedures and practises are adhered to;
- To be a proactive member of the technical team and support the wider team;
- To assist in compiling and keeping up-to-date all necessary show paperwork (including the Costume Bible) both in hard copy and digital;
- To obtain where possible VAT invoices for any hires and purchases made through petty cash;
- To comply at all times with the rules and regulations in force at the venues under the control of the Production;
- To work in accordance with the Producer’s Health and Safety policy, which may include any training deemed necessary;
- Any other reasonable duty that would normally fall within the remit of a Dresser based on industry norms and practice, or as directed by the Costume Designer, Costume Supervisor, Production Manager, Head of Wardrobe, Company Manager, Producers or General Managers.
Person Specification:
- Demonstrable professional experience working in a similar role in the West End or on Tour;
- Previous experience of working on a West End musical;
- Strong sewing skills;
- Experience with theatrical costume and a good knowledge of working with a range of materials;
- Experience of costume maintenance;
- Previous experience dressing actors;
- Previous experience with undertaking quick changes during performances;
- Be prepared to undertake physically demanding tasks;
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent attention to detail;
- A proactive and flexible attitude;
- The ability to work closely with actors and creative teams, and handle confidential information with discretion;
- The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise;
- Awareness of current Health & Safety legislation;
- Knowledge of SOLT BECTU agreements.
