Deputy Head of Stage

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and self-motivated individual to join the highly collaborative and friendly back of house team as Deputy Head of Stage at the at the Playhouse Theatre, home to the current Olivier Award winning production of Cabaret. This is an opportunity to take the lead on stage and building requirements for the theatre, supporting a long running production and taking on building maintenance projects over the coming year.

As Deputy Head of Stage you’ll support the Head of Stage with the day to day running of the theatre from a technical perspective. You will assist with the get ins, fit ups and get outs of new productions and visiting events, as well as assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the theatre, ensuring we provide the highest standard of service for the visiting company.

To succeed in this role you’ll need to be a clear communicator, able to closely with the Head of Stage and Technical & Building Manager to develop an effective working relationship with our visiting companies, the venue team, colleagues in London theatres and ATG’s central services as well as contractors and suppliers; great people skills are as important as technical ability for this position. There’s a good balance in the role between practical technical work for the production and the venue, and management of the department; please note regular evening and weekend work will be required.
