Key Responsibilities
- Manage the touring company on a daily basis, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all rehearsals and performances, and liaising effectively between all appropriate departments.
- Work closely with the Show Captain, Music Captain, and Resident Directors to plan rehearsals and oversee ongoing performance maintenance.
- Manage the company and technical teams, providing clear, timely updates, news, and communications from the Producers.
- Submit weekly payroll to the General Management team, clearly flagging any changes.
- Monitor and submit timesheets across the company to the General Management team.
- Oversee the creation of accurate Show Reports, collating information from relevant staff in a pre-agreed format and ensuring reports are issued in a timely manner.
- Manage petty cash expenditure responsibly and accurately.
- Manage schedules for actors and technical departments, producing accurate timesheets ready for processing.
- Maintain the upkeep of company areas and ensure all building procedures are adhered to.
- Manage company holiday requests in line with production requirements.
- Monitor company sickness and complete all relevant paperwork accordingly.
- Report to the General Manager on a weekly basis.
- Keep the General Manager informed of any day-to-day staff changes, including illness, absence, lateness, or behaviour that may jeopardise the smooth running of the production.
- Take responsibility for the welfare of company members, including arranging physiotherapy or similar support where required.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Safeguarding, Intimacy, Health and Safety, and venue policies, ensuring the company recognises and adheres to the importance of these procedures.
- Liaise with the press team to make arrangements for press and social media calls, attending where required.
- Oversee the pastoral care of both cast and crew.
- Cover the role of Stage Manager and the Stage Manager’s track as required.
- Act as a key point of contact for touring venues.
- For the duration of the contract, represent the Producer, attending relevant meetings when required and contributing appropriately.
- Represent the General Management team on the ground.
- Arrange emergency cover for the production when General Management are not available to do so.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties associated with a Company Manager role on a first-class touring production.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Proven UK touring experience in a Company Manager level role
- First Aid trained, with Mental Health First Aid certification
- Strong working knowledge of UK Theatre union agreements
