Rifco seeks to celebrate and reflect contemporary British Asian experiences, culture and society. We are now one of the UK’s most successful touring companies. Since 2011, Rifco has been Resident Company at Watford Palace Theatre.
We are looking for new Trustees to complement our current skills and experience to support Rifco on the next stage of its growth and development as one of the leading touring companies in the UK.

Board Responsibilities
- Board members (Trustees) have legal, financial and fiduciary responsibilities under charity law.
- The Board is responsible for ensuring that Rifco’s work is carried out in accordance with charity law and adheres to regulations set by the charity commission.
- Board members will be expected to discuss and make decisions on all company policy, strategies to implement those policies (including artistic, audience development, income generation, equal opportunities, risk management) and to monitor those strategies on a regular basis.
- Board members are not expected to take an executive role in the company, i.e in the day to day running of the company.
- The Board must ensure the company keeps full audited accounts that must be produced annually and submitted to Companies House and other bodies if required.
Board Expectations:
- Attendance at four meetings per year. Each meeting normally lasts about 2 hours.
- Online attendance to 1 or more sub-committees – potential of 1-2 hours per quarter.
- Willingness to engage in discussion at meetings, make decisions, sometimes in opposition to other Trustees.
- Increase understanding of Rifco through reading of Board papers and other information.
- Attendance at opening nights of each production or during the opening run or tour (up to 2 per year), other special events (1 per year).
- Willingness to sit on smaller specialist sub-committees.
- Act as advocates of the company and its work.
- Commitment to contribute to the company according to individual means and to fully engage with fundraising efforts.
