ATG Inspire Choir Leader – Glasgow (freelance)
We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring community choir leader with a passion for musical theatre and ability to engage all ages in singing.
As part of the ATG Inspire Glasgow team, you will lead weekly community choir rehearsals with a group of up to 70 participants, ranging in age from 18+. You will be responsible for the creative programme of the choir, which should predominantly focus on musical theatre repertoire (including pop/rock songs). You will collaborate with the ATG Inspire Producer team to agree main stage performance opportunities, and external performance opportunities, as they arise.
The choir currently rehearse on Monday evenings from 6-8pm in Theatre Royal, Glasgow for 32 weeks annually (August – June). Rehearsal fee is £150 per week, with prep time and performance fees in addition at a negotiated rate.
Key responsibilities
- To plan and deliver high quality whilst relaxed, fun and engaging choir rehearsals, focussing on musical theatre repertoire (including pop/rock songs)
- To liaise closely with the ATG inspire team, helping to maintain effective communication between choir members, ATG team and choir leader.
- Support evaluation of choir sessions with participants and ATG Inspire team.
- To collaborate with the ATG Inspire team to ensure the choir have main stage performance opportunities at King’s and/or Theatre Royal.
- To collaborate with the ATG Inspire team to allow the choir to participate in external performance opportunities as they arise.
- Accompany the choir during rehearsals.
- To work within the venue and ATG Inspire health and safety standards.
- To operate in line with all ATG ENTERTAINMENT company policy & procedures, including but not limited to Safeguarding Policies and Privacy (GDPR).
- To complete any training required as identified by ATG Inspire team.
Your skills, qualities, and experience

- Professional musician with teaching experience
- Strong vocals and piano/keyboard ability (able to lead while accompanying)
- Experience of leading choirs ages 18+
- Experience of preparing choirs for performances
- Confident public speaking and group leadership
- A passion for musical theatre
