Commenting on the Government’s plans for new technical education routes, a SOLT & UK Theatre Spokesperson said:
“For too long technical skills have been deprioritised within our education system. We welcome Government’s plans to expand access to technical education pathways and better integrate them with local employment opportunities.
“Theatres, embedded in communities across the country, are uniquely placed to provide a wide range of exciting and highly skilled jobs – from lighting, sound, and set design to digital and heritage crafts. Our members stand ready to work with schools, local and national governments, to help shape these pathways and turn this ambition into a reality.”
