LEAD TECHNICIAN / TECHNICAL MANAGER (Depending on Experience)

The Coronet Theatre is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead Technician or Technical Manager (title dependent on experience) to play a central role in delivering our ambitious international programme. This is a hands-on role at its core; you will be expected to lead from the front, working closely with artists, visiting companies, and the in-house team to ensure every production runs smoothly from initial planning to final load-out.
Acting as the primary technical liaison for all visiting companies, you will interpret and assess technical riders, identify potential issues and cost-effective solutions, and oversee the full delivery of technical elements across lighting, sound, AV, set construction, and stage management. You’ll also be an operator when needed; this is not a solely desk-based position, but a practical role requiring someone who is comfortable being in the space, troubleshooting on the fly, and setting the tone for professionalism and quality throughout the team.
Salary: Circa £36k per annum. Depending on experience.
Contract: This is a permanent, full-time position.
Working Hours: 40 Hours per week. Standard office hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm (Monday to Friday), although hours worked are to be determined by the needs of the role. Regular evening and weekend work will be required.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
