The Bridge Theatre Stage Department is currently looking for an enthusiastic and talented Show Crew to join our team for the upcoming revival of our hit production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which previously ran to great acclaim in 2019. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include all tasks customarily performed by Show Crew in respect of a theatrical production of an appropriate standard and scale including (but not limited to):

  • Providing support for the Production’s stage management team in carrying out preparation, maintenance and general upkeep of the Production as required.
  • Undertaking weekly safety checks and show maintenance under the supervision of the Stage Supervisor.
  • Ensuring the stage is kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Providing the Deputy Head of Stage / Stage Supervisor with a clear and concise cue sheet of your stage plot.
  • Providing a duty of care for the company and audience by keeping the backstage areas and fire exit routes clear at all times.
  • This production is in a promenade format and as such an audience of 400 persons will be joining the action in the pit, you will have a responsibility to ensure the safety of the audience when carrying out your stage cues, and communicate effectively with the SM team and other show staff at all times.
  • Portraying a professional manner and carrying out duties to the highest standards at all times.

 

Person Specification:

 

Essential

  • At least 1 year’s experience working on a large-scale show.
  • Safe working practice. Good working knowledge of Working at Height Regulations, LOLER, PUWER, CDM and general safe working practice in a theatrical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a collaborative environment.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.

 

Desirable

  • IPAF License and Tallescope Training.
  • Experience of working in a Producing House theatre.
  • First Aid Trained.
