Assistant Orchestra Manager (Members) – Maternity Cover

Summary

We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Orchestra Manager (Members) on a fixed-term maternity cover contract, who will work closely with the Orchestra Manager and Assistant Orchestra Manager (Es and Ds) to assist with the day to day running of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. They will lead on administering members schedules and will maintain the OPAS database and utilise it to provide administrative support for all orchestral activities.

£38,000-£40,000 per annum dependent on experience

Based in: Covent Garden, London

40 Hours per week, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends around performance and rehearsal schedules

The role:

What you`ll bring:

This role will suit a strong team player who is well organised, can work well under pressure and is able to make effective decisions at speed. They will need to be both diplomatic and assertive, with the ability to think in a flexible manner and manage change in a positive way. Knowledge of the MU negotiated commercial recording agreements would be an advantage.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant hands-on practical experience of working with a professional orchestra
  • A detailed knowledge of the working practises and demands of a professional orchestra
  • Track record of taking and accepting responsibility for projects and initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Experience of OPAS or other event management system software (OPAS experience will be highly regarded but is not essential)
  • Competency across the Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, Outlook – and an ability to pick up systems and processes quickly.
