Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking applications for a full-time, experienced Deputy Head of Wardrobe (Maternity Cover) on the London production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, this new play by Jack Thorne received its world premiere in London’s West End at the Palace Theatre in summer 2016. The critically acclaimed production is the most awarded West End play in the history of the Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best New Play and Best Director in 2017.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to support and deputise for the Head of Wardrobe. Candidates should be able to work calmly and efficiently under pressure as well as having strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly.
Technical skills required include: Ability to learn and perform dressing cues, from simple to extensive plots; experience and good knowledge in the maintenance of varied garments and textiles with excellent hand and machine sewing skills; computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel; ability and desire to learn new methods and improvement to working practices; ability to work under direction or independently, following tried and tested methods.
Experience working on a large-scale production is essential.

Job Location: West End London.
Contract Type: Fixed term for a year in the first instance or until the end of the maternity leave of the expectant mother subject to eight weeks’ notice.
Salary: Weekly rate as per SOLT/BECTU agreement.
Weekly Hours: 6 day working weeks (Tuesday to Sunday); 8 shows per week plus maintenance and rehearsal calls.
