Press office

Our press office is the first port of call for all media enquiries about London theatre.

As well as facilitating access to theatre personalities and requests for filming, production images and EPKs through our Members’ press representatives, we can also respond to press queries about the general status of the West End. Our Chief Executive Julian Bird will provide quotes where appropriate, but we are unable to comment on individual Members.

We also work closely with the press offices at VisitBritain to organise press trips for national and international journalists.

Negotiating on behalf of the industry

We’re responsible for negotiating and implementing a number of collective agreements held with Equity, BECTU and The Musicians’ Union.

These agreements determine the minimum pay, terms and conditions that apply across the industry for the engagement of actors, stage management, creatives, technicians and musicians.

Our role is to represent the complex and varying needs of our members in the negotiations with these unions.
