Culture Central is a new collective voice and development organisation for culture in the Birmingham City region. It is committed to developing and leading projects, alongside other leadership bodies in the city region, that have the potential for a positive impact on the sector – and on the region.
With a founding membership of 13 of the city’s cultural and heritage organisations, Culture Central is an open membership body representing and working on behalf of all of Birmingham’s arts organisations, practitioners, agencies and organisations engaged in the cultural sector. Culture Central’s ambition is to raise the profile of the city’s world class culture and to build upon the considerable successes already achieved through cultural bodies working collaboratively.
This role is on an initial six months fixed term contract and the post holder will be employed by Birmingham Hippodrome and based in Culture Central’s office at Chamber House, Harborne.
As Administration & Membership Manager you will oversee administrative and membership services for Culture Central. This will involve setting up office systems, organising meetings and providing admin support for events. You will also be heavily involved in developing the membership base, managing member communications and delivering operational support for events and activities, such as seminars, conferences and the like.
A graduate, ideally in business management or a creative discipline, you will have experience of working in a busy office environment and of delivering a high level administrative service. You will be highly organised and have good MS office and database skills. Able to communicate with people at all levels you will be numerate and comfortable producing quality written work.
Experience in the cultural sector would be valuable.
