Job Specification
Chichester Festival Theatre is one of the UK’s flagship theatres, renowned for the exceptionally high standard of its productions as well as its work with the community and young people. 
 
Situated in a cathedral city in West Sussex between the South Downs and the sea, the Festival Theatre’s bold thrust stage design makes it one of England’s most striking playhouses; a studio theatre, the Minerva Theatre, sits nearby. 
The annual summer Festival season runs from April to November, during which productions originated at Chichester reach an audience of over 200,000. 
 
Chichester Festival Theatre requires the following seasonal staff for Festival 2018: 
 
DEPUTY HEAD OF WARDROBE (Ref: Dep.H.Ward) 
 
WARDROBE ASSISTANT (Ref: Ward.Ass) 
Experience of working in a busy producing theatre or similar is essential. Cutting and making skills are desirable. 
 
DEPUTY HEAD OF WIGS (Ref: Dep.H.Wigs) 
 
WIGS ASSISTANT (Ref: Wigs.Ass) 
 
WIGS SHOW PERSON (Ref: Wigs.S.P) 
Experience of wigs and hair in a theatrical context, working in a busy producing theatre or similar, is essential. 
 
STAGE TECHNICIANS (Ref: Stage.Tech) 
Requires experience of team leadership, show crewing, set construction, maintenance and rigging. 
 
SENIOR LIGHTING TECHNICIANS (Ref: Snr Light.Tech) 
Applicants must have excellent experience of programming on Eos series desks, production engineering, and team leadership alongside excellent lighting technician skills. 
 
LIGHTING TECHNICIANS (Ref: Light.Tech) 
Applicants must have experience of show operation, rigging, working at height and basic electrical construction and servicing skills. Programming experience on Eos series desks desirable. 
 
SENIOR SOUND TECHNICIANS (Ref: Snr.Sound.Tech) 
Experience of production engineering in a producing theatre environment, and of No1 operation on Digico and Yamaha digital consoles, is essential. 
 
SOUND TECHNICIANS (Ref: Sound.Tech) 
Production engineering experience with knowledge of Yamaha digital consoles, show control software and experience working with radio mics. 
 
HEAD OF PROPS WORKSHOP (Ref: HOD.Props) 
Excellent prop making skills in various materials as well as experience of managing multiple projects and team leadership in a busy workshop environment. 
 
PROP MAKER (Ref: Props) 
Experience of making props, scenic art and upholstery using various materials and equipment.
